Choosing a Red-Light Panel: Where Do You Start?
When choosing a red-light therapy panel, start with the most important question: where will it live in your home—and how will you actually use it? Your setup dictates how consistently you'll stick with the routine.
Most people find it's easier to use a panel while lying down, because you can relax, read, or listen to a podcast. Standing in front of a panel for 20–30 minutes sounds simple, but it’s surprisingly hard to maintain long-term.
If you prefer lying down, the stand becomes essential, and not all panels come with a stable or affordable one. Another option is mounting the panel horizontally on a wall next to a bed—an easy DIY project if you’re handy.
A practical middle-ground setup is placing a medium-height panel vertically under a bathroom sink or vanity, letting you use it while brushing your teeth or getting ready. You can then move it elsewhere for sitting or lying sessions. These mid-size units are lighter, more portable, and often more versatile than full-size panels.
No matter the setup, choose something that fits naturally into your routine—consistency is what delivers results.
We don’t endorse specific brands, but it’s wise to choose a provider with local stock, both to avoid international shipping costs and to make returns easier. Look for panels with at least four wavelengths (two red and two near-infrared). Most modern models now offer five or six.
BlockBlueLight offers reliable options and usually runs excellent Black Friday deals. Another strong brand is Rojo, which you can test at Mito Core—we chose it largely for the electric stand. Many other reputable brands exist, with more entering the market all the time.
